Got some time to spare? We have opportunities to match.
Consider working in one of our urban gardens. These gardens supply organic produce for our meal programs. Whether you’re a garden novice or a seasoned pro, we can put your skills and abilities to good use. Depending on the season, garden tasks might include planting, weeding, composting or even harvesting. Remember that you’ll be outside and that our garden projects usually continue regardless of the weather. Closed-toe shoes, rain jackets, hats, etc., are recommended. We’ll let you borrow our gloves, but you’re also welcome to bring your own. Sign up to help below so you can start digging in.
We’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to prep food for our meals program. Volunteers weigh and sort donated produce, wash and chop vegetables, assemble healthy snacks, slice bread or bake off desserts. Please register below to secure a specific day and time.
The Food Trucks
Join us on our trucks for a lunchtime meal delivery and service. Volunteers serve alongside a TNFP staff member or volunteer team leader. We'll meet at our office in Green Hills to load up the food and travel together to our destination.
Come gleaning with us! We regularly visit local grocery stores and farms to glean their excess food to be used in our meals program. Help us out by visiting and helping out our partners at Whole Foods Market, Lookin' Up Farm, Giving Garden and Cul2vate Farm.
Group Service Projects
Everything’s better when you do it together. The Nashville Food Project regularly hosts groups from schools, businesses and social clubs interested in building community and giving back. Got a creative idea? Try us. Please be in touch using the form below.
