Elke Hoffman, Food Distribution Coordinator

Elke originally hails from Kassel, Germany where she gained a love and appreciation for gardening from working in her Oma's home garden in the afternoons. A graduate of Berry College in Public Relations and Visual Communications, and a self described Jill-of-all-trades, Elke brings a full tool belt of skills to TNFP from the various positions she has held over the years: Landscaper, Horse Barn Manager, Photo Journalist, Loss Prevention Trainer, Advertising Executive, Church Outreach Director, and most recently Communications Consultant for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Dept of ObGyn. It is her passion for living in true community with those around her, her love of cooking and sharing meals with others, and a deep desire to make a difference in this world that ultimately brought her to the doors of The Nashville Food Project, "It's a melding of some of my absolute favorite things all in one beautiful non-profit." When she's not at the California Avenue Headquarters you can find Elke out volunteering her time at other local non-profits, hiking, playing with dogs, experiencing other cultures through food, jamming out on her drums, or building the coolest Lego creation ever.
