Kia Brown, Community Gardens Manager

A New York native, Kia has lived in Nashville for 11 years. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Memphis, she spent a year serving in AmeriCorps. Her service took her to Seattle where she discovered a love for growing both food and community. Kia loves to travel and explore, which led to a summer interning at the Nashville Zoo as well as interest in hobbies such as metalsmithing. You might find Kia leading groups in any of our gardens, but she works closely with the Green Thumbers in the McGruder community garden.
